Tips for a long-lasting hairstyle

A hairstyle that stays strong all day long? Yes, please! With the pro-tips from our hair professionals, you can enjoy your hairstyle all day long!

Skip washing your hair before styling

Don't wash your hair right before styling it. Washing your hair with shampoo, conditioner, or a mask makes it smooth and soft, and your updo might not stay in place as long. Freshen up your hair with dry shampoo if needed.

Curly hair that is already dry is easier to style. Wet hair is a lot heavier, which can cause your styled hair to sag quickly.

Pre-care

Do not worry if you do plan on putting your hair up right after washing. Use a generous amount of Cashmere Cloud on towel-dried hair for extra hold. After, blow-dry hair until it's almost dry. Apply some Silkening Polish and finish drying. The polish reduces frizz.

After-care

Once you've styled your hair, use Free Styler for a finishing touch.

Half-up-half-down hairstyles for curly hair

Do you want to go for a casual hair style? Go for a half-up-half-down look. By pinning up a few strands, you can create a fun look.

There are various ways to style curly hair this way.

  • Half-up-half-down hairstyle with a bun

  • Half-up-half-down hairstyle with a clip

  2. Create a bun in the top section. Use an elastic or hairpin to secure the hair.

  3. Leave the bottom section of your hair loose.

  4. Spray Free Styler to provide extra hold for a hairstyle that lasts all day long.

Half-up-half-down hairstyle with a clip

The hair half-up-half-down look can be easily achieved with a hairclip. There are various ways to use this tool with your curly hairstyle.

  1. Apply some Smooth Operator on to your hands and distribute it through your dry or slightly damp hair. Smooth Operator helps combat frizz.

  2. Gather all your hair as if you're making a ponytail in your hand.

  3. Lift the hair up while twisting it five to six times. Your hair will be twisted against the back of your head.

  4. Secure your hair at the bottom with a clip. Then, let the strand of hair fall over the clip for a playful effect.

Updo for curly hair

Prefer your hair completely away from your neck? You can create an updo hairstyle in various ways.

  • Updo in a messy bun

  • Updo with a clip

Updo in a messy bun

You can make a messy bun as easy as you like. We'll explain the easiest way to achieve the perfect messy bun.

  1. Start by creating a loose ponytail, preferably with a spiral elastic. This helps to maintain the natural curl pattern.

  2. Then, take a small section and twist it into a loop. Secure the loop with a hairpin.

  3. Repeat this step section by section until the entire tail is pinned up.
